On November 26-27, 2023, the Non Coherent Optical Radiation Safety Subcommittee (SAC/TC284/SC4) of the National Technical Committee for Optical Radiation Safety and Laser Equipment Standardization held its 2023 annual meeting in Guzhen, Zhongshan, Guangdong Province. There were 43 attending committee members and representatives, and 2 specially invited experts. Qi Yan, Secretary General of the National Committee on Optical Radiation Safety and Laser Equipment Standardization (SAC/TC284), attended the meeting.
On November 26th, all members discussed and studied the technical content of the recommended national standard project "Nighttime Blue Light Radiation Hazard Assessment Method" developed by SAC/TC284/SC4 and the draft recommended national standard "Light Radiation Safety Requirements for Display Products" to be applied for approval through an online meeting.
1On the morning of January 27th, SAC/TC284/SC4 officially kicked off the 2023 annual meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, Chairman Academician Gu Ying delivered a passionate speech, affirming the work of the sub committee in 2023 and making overall arrangements and expectations for the work in 2024.
SAC/TC284/SC4秘书长王建平对2023年的工作进行了总结，并提出了2024年工作计划。2024年秘书处将吸收东北和西北地区的委员，扩大和优化分技委的组织结构，为分技委的标准化工作建设增加新鲜血液。此后，会议表彰了2023年度先进委员，以鼓励各委员积极参与SAC/TC284/SC4的工作，感谢各位委员给予的支持。
TC284 Secretary General Qi Yan explained to everyone at the meeting the latest developments in standardization policies such as the National Standardization Development Outline, and expressed affirmation and encouragement for the work of the Non Coherent Optical Radiation Safety Subcommittee in 2023.
On the afternoon of November 27th, the 4th International Symposium on Optoelectronic Health and Medical Sciences, titled "Future Medicine - UV Applications," was grandly held, co hosted by SAC/TC284/SC4, Zhejiang Smart Health Lighting Research Institute, and Zhongshan Quality and Metrology Supervision and Testing Institute in Guangdong Province, and co organized by Zhongshan Semiconductor Lighting Industry Association.
At the conference, Academician Gu Ying, Chairman of SAC/TC284/SC4, Professor Mou Tongsheng, Vice Chairman, Professor Peng Zhenjian, Vice Chairman, Dr. Hu Qiuhong, and specially invited experts Dr. David Sliney and Researcher Huang Xuebo respectively gave reports entitled "Application of UV LED in Phototherapy", "Effectiveness and Safety Measurement of UV Radiation", "Building of Photobiological Safety Assessment Capability for Wearable Devices", "Nordic Perspective on UV Pros and Cons", "Interpretation of IEC62471-6 International Standard", and "Measurement Issues of Broadband UV Radiation Meter". The conference was a complete success!
